Old Town Celebrations - exhibitions, workshops, conferences, dances, stages, a crafts fair, smiles and an incredible atmosphere!
From 17 to 23 September Plovdiv opened the doors to its most beautiful treasures. Old Town Celebrations is a festival of the ancient and the new, which this year again filled the streets of Old Plovdiv with even more life and proved that the past has a future. Residents of Plovdiv and the city’s guests came into contact with inspiring artists of different generations, joined the adventure called the “Three Hills of Time” tour, immersed themselves in an incredible laser show, enjoyed the evenings at Nebet Tepe with lots of music and a lavish, memorable firework display, and the cobblestones captured heaps of smiles from happy children; guests also met the best craftspeople in Bulgaria and enjoyed cinema above the Tunnel, traditional dishes and desserts, and street art. Some of the most delightful sites in Old Plovdiv (Dancho’s House, Kleanthi House, Balabanov House, Nedkovich House, Hindliyan House, the Byalata Kushta Cultural Centre, the Zlatyu Boyadzhiev Gallery, the Ancient Theatre, the Small Basilica and many others) opened their doors even wider to art, public debate and their wonderful audiences. Bachkovo spring water once again took an active part in supporting Plovdiv’s cultural life by backing events from the “Old Town Celebrations” programme.
