Plovdiv Municipality presented 29 prestigious awards for achievements in tourism

“Nova Trade” receives the “Outstanding Partnership” prize

At a ceremony held in the Small Early Christian Basilica, the Second Annual Tourism Awards of Plovdiv Municipality were presented. Their aim is to stimulate competition in the tourism sector and improve the tourism product in Plovdiv by recognising the best practices and results achieved over the past year, 2017.

The event was attended by the chair of Plovdiv Municipal Council, Savina Petkova, the deputy regional governor, Petar Petrov, the Deputy Mayor for Culture and Tourism, Eng. Aleksandar Durzhikov, the Deputy Mayor for Sport, Youth Activities and Social Policy, Georgi Tityukov, and the mayor of Tsentralen District, Georgi Stamenov. This year’s categories were: “Most Original New Tourism Product” - the winner was Philipopolis Tour for “Plovdiv and 20 Minutes Beyond - Culture, Wine and Sacred Places”, with second place going to Dan Travel with the product “Opera and Gourmet Tour”. “Most Original Event in Tourism” was taken by the “Young Wine Parade” festival. “Best Results for the Hotel Industry” was won by Hotel Intercoop; in the 3-star category the award went to Business Hotel Plovdiv, and in the 4-5-star category to Landmark Creek Hotel; and Toro Grande restaurant was named the “Most Attractive Venue”. Special plaques for outstanding contribution were received by the State Opera Plovdiv, the Musicartissimo Foundation, the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation and the Regional Museum of Natural History for its hall with live tropical butterflies, and “Nova Trade” Ltd, which was awarded the “Outstanding Partnership” prize for its contribution to the cultural events of the municipal institute “Old Plovdiv”.
