A puppet kingdom in Plovdiv

An impressive international puppet theatre festival, “Two Is a Few - Three Is a Crowd”, supported by Bachkovo spring water.

From 3 to 7 September the 23rd International Puppet Theatre Festival for chamber puppet performances for children and adults took place in Plovdiv. This year the competition programme featured 16 shows from Bulgaria and abroad, coming to life in five venues in Plovdiv and one in Sofia, as well as 25 street intermezzos presented by nine international troupes, and plenty of fairy-tale magic. The festival programme began with the show “Balloons” - Clown Catastrophe in Kapana, next to the Dzhumaya Mosque. The procession along the Main Street by the fire and shadow theatre Firetier was remarkable. Impressive, sincere, unique and attractive, the actors from Firetier brought the main street of Plovdiv to life with their huge magical creatures and shapes not for the first time. The festival is dedicated to imagination, spirit, fairy tales and magic, but always and above all to people - both young and old. The festival is a competition and is organised by the non-profit association International Puppet Theatre Festival “Two Is a Few - Three Is a Crowd” and the State Puppet Theatre Plovdiv, with the support and under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Plovdiv Municipality. Bachkovo spring water supported the event and kept up its tradition of encouraging projects in the field of culture.
