Bachkovo spring water supported Plovdiv’s most beautiful festival - the Plovdiv International Folklore Festival 2018

The festival is part of the city’s Calendar of Cultural Events. This year the event, which has become a tradition in Plovdiv’s cultural life, runs from 30 July to 3 August. Representative folklore ensembles from ten countries meet in the city - Bulgaria, Georgia, Indonesia, Macedonia, Mexico, Slovenia, Ukraine, France, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. For the 24th year in a row, Plovdiv Municipality is the organiser and the city the host of the International Folklore Festival, which brings together folklore groups from all over the world, presenting with great beauty, talent and good humour an unforgettable spectacle of colour and rhythm in one of the most emblematic places. Some of the best folklore, music and dance ensembles travel thousands of kilometres to show the beauty and uniqueness of their country’s folklore to the Plovdiv audience and the city’s guests, in one of the most emblematic places - the Ancient Theatre of Plovdiv. Every evening at 17:30 the ensembles parade along the Main Street. The programme continues with the official evening performances of the participants on the stage of the Ancient Theatre at 20:00. Admission to the events is free. The opening ceremony of the 24th International Folklore Festival took place on Monday, 30 July, at 20:00 at the Ancient Theatre. On the same stage on the last evening, 3 August, at 20:00, are the gala concert and the official closing ceremony of the event. Bachkovo spring water helped the better professional organisation of the event by supporting the folklore ensembles with water for the whole period of the festival.
