The “Water Is Health” campaign begins - the hospitals of the Bulfarma group and “Bachkovo” spring water together in caring for patients
For the third year running, the healthcare facilities of the Bulfarma Ltd group and “Bachkovo” spring water are carrying out the joint initiative “Water Is Health”. The social campaign includes Sofiamed University Hospital, Pulmed University Hospital, Burgasmed Hospital, the Zdrave Medical Centre in Pazardzhik, Zdrave Hospital in Velingrad and Prof. D. Ranev Hospital in Peshtera. In July, August and September all the hospitals will receive, as a donation, a total of 31 thousand 1.5-litre bottles of “Bachkovo” spring water for their patients.
The initiative aims to remind people that regular water consumption is extremely important for the human body. In summer the need for hydration is even greater, as the body actively regulates its temperature through sweating, releasing large amounts of water. That is why specialists advise increasing fluid intake, especially in the hot months, to avoid dehydration and the health problems that follow from it. Maintaining the balance of salts and minerals is of prime importance, since the human body is about 70-75% water.
Patients with chronic diseases, with cardiovascular diseases, on antihypertensive therapy, diabetics, overweight people and pregnant women should be especially careful when exposed to the sun and high temperatures.
All healthcare facilities in the Bulfarma group provide cool and comfortable conditions in the hospital premises during the summer months. Following doctors’ recommendation to drink at least 1.5 litres of water a day in summer, every patient admitted to the hospitals will receive one large bottle of “Bachkovo” spring water. A leading advantage in its composition is its pH of 7.23; this neutral value and the low total mineralisation allow everyday use without unnecessary strain on the human body. “Bachkovo” spring water is drawn from a natural captured spring located in the Rhodope Mountains and is bottled without additional processing technologies, giving consumers crystal-clear mountain water.
